Around 2:00 o’clock dawn of February 17, Wednesday, operatives of Intelligence Section of Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Command, Regional Mobile Group and Sapang Dalaga Police Station are already moving to serve a search warrant to a house own by a Municipal Councilor of Sapang Dalaga located in Purok 3, Brgy Caluya.
Acting judge Bernadette Encinareal of Regional Trial Court Branch 36 in Calamba issued the warrant against the house of Joel “Tiwi” Garcia Daque on the ground that there is “good and sufficient reason to believe” that the subject is possessing firearms without license.
Around 6:00 o’clock witnessed by two barangay officials started the search.
Searching officers first discovered a Smith & Wesson super .38 caliber with ammunitions inside the store.
A grenade was also found in the clothes cabinet of the suspect.
Two other firearms, 9 mm pistol and .38 caliber were found hidden at the back of the fireplace (abuhan).
Provincial Police Director Senior Superintendent Robert Quenery said they applied for a search warrants after validating several reports and complaints from residents of Sapang Dalaga.
“Yung bahay niya parang ginagamit na lalagyan ng mga armas,” Quenery said.
“Based on those information we developed the case and apllied for a search warant,” he added.
“Tiwi” is also identified as brother of Francisco “Dondon” Daque, an alleged hired killer believed to be responsible in the Naburos incident were group of arm men harassed and threatened local setllers.
“We are still looking on his partcipation but initially kasi ang kanyang kapatid we believe is been involved in the Naburos incident. According to our informants yung bahay niya ang nilalagyan ng mga baril but we are still looking unto it and investigation is still on going,” he explained.
According to SSupt Quenery the successful operation showed that the Philippine National Police is serious in their campaigns against arm groups especially during this election period.
PNP had already filed cases of illegal possessin of firearms, explosives and violation of COMELEC Election Omnibus Code.

Misocc 20% dev't fund approves
Misamis Occidental's 20% development fund amounting P 101, 600, 000 now ready to be implemented in different programs and projectsin the province after Sanguniang Panlalawigan members in thier first regular session of the year last January 8 has jointly and unanimously approved the request of Governor Leo Ocampos for a resolution in order to disburse the fund.
Ocampos' economic, cultural and social development programs share the biggest appropriation comprising more than 50% amounting P 51,000,000. Included in the programs are; "Kakugi ko, kalamboan ko, responsibilidad ko," productivity consciousness drive of Ocampos administration;water system projects and other infrastructure programs; scholarship and peace and order programs.Provincial lawmakers share P 10,400,000 for thier provincewide development program. Around P 8 million is also intended for health insurance for Philhealth beneficiaries of the province. Ocampos earlier announced that his administration aim to double its enrollees to Philhealth by having a 50-50 share between the province and beneficiary.
Ten million is also allocated for loan repayment in Land Bank of the Philippines and Development Bank of the Philippines.
Since the province is beneficiary ofdifferent foreign funded aids like AUSAIDS, USAIDS and EC grants, P 7,000,000 is intended for cash counterpart. For the maintenance and rehabilitation of provincial roads Ocampos provides P 5,000,000.
While the province's economic enterprise are still in the process of transforming itself into dependent on its operations not relying from the province's budget, Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park shares P 3 M while Misamis Occidental Enterprise Development and Reasearh Center and Misamis Occidental Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center got P 1 M each.
As promised by Ocampos during its launching program program, Misamis Occidental Children's Welfare Code has an initial budget of P 3 M.
Remaining funds are budgeted for Gender and Development Center and Traffic Safety Management Program worth P 500,000 each; P 300,000 for the development of Hoyohoy Highland Park; P 200,000 for Women organization activities and P 100,000 each for Senior Citizen Assistance, Provincial Councilor's League, Federated Association of Barangay Council and Federated Sanguniang Kabataan activities and projects.
